American International Enterprises, Inc. (AIE), manufacturers representative, was founded in 1976 by Steve Painter. The Company was purchased from Mr. Painter by Douglas Nelson in 1984. AIE operated as a one-person rep firm until 1991, when Martin Douglas joined Mr. Nelson.

Martin and Karen Douglas purchased the Company from Mr. Nelson in 1996. They immediately added an inside sales position and computerized administrative functions, as well as the prospecting and sales tracking systems.

In response to the growing Oregon market, in 1997 AIE opened a second office in Vancouver, Washington to cover southern Washington and the state of Oregon.

In 2007, we added a third salesperson in the Washington office, to provide wider and deeper coverage of the Washington and emerging western Canada markets.

We strive for longevity and loyalty to our lines. Many of Principals have been with AIE for 10+ years, some even from our beginnings in 1976.
